Baby’s Breath – breathing new life in to this retro wedding flower

It’s the marmite of the floral world. Baby’s breath, Gypsophilia…whatever you call it….do you love it or hate it?  I currently have one bride who categorically said absolutely ‘NO’ to having baby’s breath in any of her wedding flowers.  Whilst the brief of another, was baby’s breath wedding flowers only. Me, I think, if used skillfully, it’s absolutely gorgeous.

Traditionally, gypsophilia has been known as an inexpensive filler bloom for bouquets, but in the last few years, the small white flower has cemented it’s place as a versatile wedding flower more than worthy of the spotlight. This simple but pretty bloom is both delicate and feminine, but also perfect for creating the most incredibly artistic and stylish displays. Below is a round of up of beautiful baby’s breath wedding flowers that will leave your guests swooning.

Bouquets

Sweet, petite bouquets for the whole bridal party is an economical choice that doesn’t compromise on style.

Or leave the stems long and mix with another flower such as white orchids for a chic, contemporary look.

Table garlands of baby’s breath interspersed with candles are beautifully elegant.

Flower Clouds & Arches

The most dreamy way to elevate your wedding florals….an arch or a suspended floral cloud. I really think there is nothing more beautiful than large scale installations made purely of gypsophilia.  Delicate, romantic, chic and stylish….what more could you ask for to really wow your guests.  And even more importantly, the beauty is captured forever in your wedding photos.

Kisses under the clouds create stunning wedding images to gaze at for a lifetime.

I’ll sign off with an image from Rodarte’s fashion show back in 2018 which featured organic style flower crowns and boas made from baby’s breath.  They were clearly on to something. xx
